It’s time to #HelpKidsLiveBetter at Walmart and Sam’s Club

Local Walmart and Sam’s Club stores are once again joining forces to “Change Kids’ Health, Change the Future” by raising money for The Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional during the annual #HelpKidsLiveBetter campaign.

Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers, and members have raised over $2.6 million for The Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional since 1995. To date, total fundraising from Walmart and Sam’s Club for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is more than $1 billion.

How will donating at Walmart #HelpKidsLiveBetter?

This year funds raised at the register will help fund two new Neonatal Intensive Care Ambulances to transport our most vulnerable patients ages 0-3 months old. New ambulances will prevent brain bleeds in infants by offering better suspension and more modern technology for the NICU team to use while on the go. When families are in need, these ambulances will allow these babies to be transported in the best way possible.

Walmart associates at select locations will have the chance to tour one of these ambulances to see where their funds are going and why every bit rounded up at the register is making an incredible impact on infants and babies in our community.

Money is raised primarily through a register campaign where customers and members contribute $1 or more when they checkout. Associates also fundraise in other ways including bake sales, in-store contests, and events. For example, Walmart Supercenter #4283 is holding a car wash. On June 25th, Walmart Neighborhood Market #4421 will host local hockey players from the Columbus River Dragons to sign autographs for donations to Children’s Miracle Network.

The 2019 campaign raised $100,149.40 for The Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional. This year’s register campaign runs June 22 through July 19. Customers and members can conveniently donate $1 or more when they check out at any Walmart or Sam’s Club stores.

Pediatric healthcare is underfunded. Money raised at Walmart and Sam’s Club helps close this funding gap. All funds raised at Chattahoochee Valley Walmart and Sam’s Club locations directly benefit the kids treated at The Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional.

Walmart and Sam’s Club joined the CMN Hospitals fundraising family in 1987 with Sam Walton himself being personally involved in the beginning of the relationship between the organizations. The #HelpKidsLiveBetter campaign supports Walmart’s goal of giving back to local communities.

Customers and members can help spread the word about the campaign via social media using the hashtag #HelpKidsLiveBetter.
